Mona Hatoum is one of the most significant artists to have emerged from the Palestinian diaspora, celebrated for a body of work that channels the language of minimalism into a vehicle for political and bodily unease. Born to a Palestinian family exiled from Haifa, she trained in graphic design at Beirut University College before a visit to London in 1975 coincided with the outbreak of the Lebanese Civil War, leaving her unable to return home...
